The prize will be presented at a ceremony in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, on August 31, 2024. The choice was made during a meeting chaired by Prof. Mandavi Singh, vice-chancellor of Bhatkhande Sanskriti University in Lucknow. Kumkum Adarsh, a senior disciple of Pandit Lachhu Maharaj, and the secretary of the Pt. Lachhu Maharaj Bellet Foundation also attended the conference. Ten distinguished individuals will receive the Lacchu Maharaj Award. After 2014, the renowned kathak exponent Lacchu Maharaj was remembered with the Lacchu Maharaj Award, which was discontinued. The Pandit Lacchu Maharaj Ballet Foundation has chosen to honor ten individuals this year as a result.
